    The High Sheriff of East Sussex Thanks British Forces

    On 21st February 2008 The High Sheriff of East Sussex Caroline Mayhew, launched our Easter 2008 appeal.

    The High Sheriff of East Sussex 2007-8 kindly presented www.thanktheforces.com with a selection of Sussex produce and gifts to be sent to British service personnel in Afghanistan and Iraq.

    Frank and Sue O’Hara, founders of The Tuesday O’Hara Fund also attended and presented us with a huge amount of gifts and treats that had been collected for sending to the soldiers at a memorial evening held for their daughter Tuesday O’Hara.

    Resident of The Month
    Thank The Forces Founder Sue Smith was surprised and delighted to receive notification that more than one of our supporters had nominated her Resident of the Month for Eastbourne.

    Sue attended Advanta Offices ,Gildredge Road, Eastbourne and received a lovely certificate from Yiotis Diomedo Director of the accountants’ office.

    The award is also sponsored by The Eastbourne Gazette and Herald,  Sue will be eating free of charge at a local restaurant courtesy of these two generous companies.

    Annemarie Field from The Eastbourne Herald has been particularly supportive and we thank her for all the press coverage she has obtained for us.

     

     

  • Jevington Womens Institute Supporting Thank The Forces Charity

    Jevington Womens Institute Supporting Thank The Forces Charity

    Jevington and Filching Womens Institute kindly collected a huge amount of Easter gifts to be sent to British Soldiers. A competition winning shoe box was also donated.

    The competition box was covered in a map of the local area wth local badges and the Jevington and Filching WI club history. This beautiful box was lined with information and pictures of all the local club members.

    Sue is pictured with just a few of the local Womens Institute Club members.
